At the midpoint of the year, it’s time to reflect on the consumption of music. In a year that’s been dominant by rising hip-hop acts, such success of breakthrough artists which include Lil Baby and Roddy Ricch are apparent in the most successful albums of the year so far.
Hits Daily Double have shared the Top 50 Albums at Midyear and Lil Baby’s My Turn tops the chart as the biggest album of the year. Released in late February, the album has a YTD (Year-to-date) overall activity of 1.397 Million which include album units, song sales, and overall streams. The album recently took the top spot from The Weeknd, who’s album After Hours shortly follows with 1.392 Million YTD overall activity.
Lil Uzi Vert, Roddy Ricch, and Post Malone roundup the top five, with Justin Bieber, BTS, and Billie Eilish making apparences in the top 10. Other notable entries include Travis Scott’s 2018 album Astroworld, Queen’s Greatest Hits album, and Post Malone’s 2016 release Stoney. Check out the charts below.
