I know we’re tired of the Coachella talk, but we can’t end the conversation without acknowledging one of the best sets of the weekend.... Over the past three days we’ve witnessed some great Coachella sets, whether it be from Vince Staples to Beyoncé, but as great as their performances were, the crowd didn’t live up to the potential. What’s crucial for a live performance is not just the material that is being performed but the crowd that exudes the energy.
Keeping it as simple as it could for a festival, Miguel demonstrated the basics for a great Coachella set. Breezing through his classics, ‘Adorn’ & ‘Sure Things’, while performing tracks from his albums, ‘Wildheart’ & ‘War & Leisure’, that were made for the desert, Miguel was electrifying, living through the energy from the crowd. The opening lines of ‘Do U’ had the crowd as lively as ever, with ‘Waves’ they joined in on the intensifying bridge, and with the closing ‘Skywalker’ they witnessed R&B’s greatest rockstar live in the flesh. Top three best sets of Coachella 2018.
