Anderson .Paak To Release "Lockdown" Remix EP

Back in June, Anderson .Paak returned with the powerful song and music video “Lockdown”. The song arrived on Juneteenth, a day that celebrates when slavery came to an end in the United States.

“Lockdown” takes a look into Anderson .Paak’s experience of the recent events over his signature soul-rap production. Lyrically the song focuses on protesting and the conflict that rises with cops: “You should’ve been downtown. The people are rising. We thought it was a lockdown. They opened the fire”.

The accompanying music video was directed by the iconic Dave Meyers which featured special guests such as Dominic Fike, Syd, and Jay Rock, who adds a verse in the music video. Nearly two months later it looks like Anderson .Paak is ready to remix the song with five different versions.

Anderson .Paak will be re-releasing the song with a radio edit version, instrumental version, acapella version, video edit version featuring the Jay Rock verse, and a new remix featuring JID, NoName, and Jay Rock.

It will be released on Friday, August 7th.
