Bryson Tiller, an artist who has helped shaped the sound of trap-soul into the latter half of the 2010s and right into the new decade, returns to form with his latest release. The new single “Inhale” is the first from his forthcoming album that is set to be released in the Fall.
The song revives the momentum that Bryson Tiller once lost. It picks up the pace with an enhancement to his signature delivery that caught the attention of listeners in the first place. Back in 2015, Tiller took the world by storm with his breakthrough hit “Don’t” a song that would inspire his peers and future R&B singers to follow suit with a similar sound. While the genre is stuck at that same sound, Tiller returns back to it, but makes it exciting again.
Backed by a beat-switch, the song travels through the bittersweet impact of nostalgia, as Tiller goes through the various styles of R&B. He looks through the lens of 90s soul, 00s hits, and the 10s trap-soul.
The forthcoming project will be the follow-up to his 2017 sophomore release, True to Self. Listen to “Inhale” above.
