Halsey is the latest artist to call out the Recording Academy. The “Without Me” singer took to Instagram to clear the air after she received zero nominations at the 2021 Grammys.
Halsey, who was previously nominated for a Grammy for the song “Closer” with The Chainsmokers, has yet to receive an actual win, or another nomination. She has been outspoken about her thoughts on the award show after her single “Without Me” received no recognition from the Recording Academy, despite being a massive success and ending the decade at No. 12 on Billboard’s Biggest Songs of the 2010s list.
Now, Halsey explains her stand after being shut out from the 2021 Grammys despite releasing her album, ‘Manic’ earlier this year. She says it’s all about who you know, how you campaign, and behind the scenes politics. Halsey also defends The Weeknd, who co-wrote her 2017 single “Eyes Closed”. Check out what she says below:
