J Balvin, Dua Lipa, and Bad Bunny Release "Un Dia" | Listen + Track Review

J Balvin, Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa, and Tainy team up for the A-List collaboration of the summer. Produced by Tainy, the song was released along with a Stillz-directed music video.

Titled “Un Dia” which translates to “One Day”, was produced by Tainy and NEON16. The mid-tempo reggaeton tune explores the fascination with trying to repair a broken heart.  Over a mellow based production, Dua Lipa soars with a chorus that questions the intentions of her former partner.

Maintaining the Latino flare, both J Balvin and Bad Bunny help to build an atmospheric safe space for Dua Lipa to crossover with ease. With a somewhat predictable delivery from both reggaetón artists,  their contributions are not the center of attention on the track. Instead it’s the Tainy production which surprises listeners who expect a summer smash hit.

After collaborating on the breakout summer hit of 2018 “I Like It” with Cardi B, and with the release of the disco influenced album Future Nostalgia from earlier this year, one would expect the star-studded team that is J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Dua Lipa to dominate the airwaves with their collaboration. Instead, they fall flat with meeting expectations and release a end of summer playlist fitting mid-tempo.
