Joji shares the fourth single off of his upcoming album Nectar with Diplo titled “Daylight”. The song follows previous released singles “Sanctuary”, “Run”, and “Gimme Love”.
Relying on his signature unholy melancholic sound, Joji remains consistent with his sad boy delivery. While the production is a bit upbeat, the song balances the cheery atmosphere with an emotional resonation.
Diplo is in full control with the production. With an unpredictable effect to how he comes face-to-face with different sounds these days, Diplo sheds light into a foggy environment. Providing a peek of clarity into Joji’s world, Diplo’s effectiveness helps Joji get comfortable with yet another refreshing direction.
Unlike “Sancutary” and “Run”, the song isn’t completely overwhelmingly emotional, but it is the most similar to “Gimme Love”, as it allows Joji to expand on his sound while remaining classic doing so.
Joji’s sophomore album Nectar was scheduled to be released in the summer, but was pushed back until September.
