Julian Casablanca picks his favorites to win Best Rock Album and Best Alternative Album at the 2021 Grammys.
Speaking to The Associated Press, frontman of The Strokes spoke on the band’s recent nomination for Best Rock Album for their latest release, The New Abnormal, at the 2021 Grammys.
The New Abnormal will be competing with ‘A Hero’s Death’ by Fontaines D.C., ‘Kiwanuka’ by Michael Kiwanuka, ‘Daylight’ by Grace Potter and ‘Sound & Fury’ by Sturgill Simpson.
His pick to win isn’t The Strokes, instead it’s ‘Daylight’ by Grace Potter. “My money’s on Grace Potter”, Casablancas says.
While The Strokes aren’t competing in Best Alternative Music Album, if they were, he’d be rooting for Tame Impala to win for ‘The Slow Rush’.
He says, “I’d probably be rooting for Tame Impala,” he says. “Lose-lose.”
