After his tragic passing, which was confirmed on New Years Eve, new reports on the follow up to 2004's classic rap album, Madvilliany, has surfaced.
“DOOM was always telling me ‘It’s 85% done, it’s 85% done.’ That was the magic number", Peanut Butter Wolf revealed on the Juan EP is Dead Podcast. Wolf is the founder of Stones Throw Records, which MF DOOM and Madlib released the album with.
Wolf also claimed that the album was initially suppose to come out in 2009 but MF DOOM held it off, insisting that a few more songs need to be completed: “I got a little frustrated, and I was just like, you know, ‘It’s gonna happen when it’s gonna happen.’ I don’t wanna be the guy to force creativity or anything".
The sequel was on its way at the time of DOOM's passing, but it could potentially still see the light of day, as Wolf says he received the blessing from DOOM's family to still release the album.
