The Weeknd’s ‘House Of Balloons’ Arrives To Streaming In Its Original Form

It’s been 10 years since The Weeknd released his debut mixtape, ‘House of Balloons’. The mixtape was a tale of experiences by a then twenty-year old heathen who wasn’t afraid to explore life’s darkest demons.

Then, an artist who exploded onto the scene through tumblr, helped to shape the soundscape of the 2010s decade. ‘House of Balloons’ was a concept of The Weeknd embracing insecurities while acknowledging the satisfaction of regret.

The mixtape was then repackaged along with his next two mixtapes, ‘Thursday’ and ‘Echoes of Silence’ on the 2012 compilation project, ‘Trilogy’. The 2012 version reimagined an alternative ending with the new song, “Twenty Eight”.

10 years since ‘House of Balloons’, The Weeknd celebrates the mixtape that kickstarted it all and re-releases the mixtape in it’s original form on all streaming services. This version contains all the original samples including the infamous Aaliyah sample on “What You Need”.
