Tom Hardy’s Forgotten Late 90’s Mixtape Deserves A Revisit

Tom Hardy, the man of many talents, is best known for his captivating roles in films such as Inception, Mad Max: Fury, Dunkirk, and many more. But, did you know that he’s actually a pretty good rapper?

The actor’s 1999 mixtape surfaced online back in 2018 and it’s a worthy project to revisit. At one point Hardy proclaimed that he wasn’t “very good” at rapping, but the mixtape says otherwise.

‘Falling On Your Arse in 1999’ was shared by Tom Hardy’s collaborator DJ Eddie Too Tall who worked with the actor on the mixtape. “ Made in a bedroom 1999 these mixtapes were never really finished. Lyrics written and performed by Tom Hardy. Music written and produced by Ed Tracy”, a note on the mixtape reads.

The mixtape fits right in the soundscape of late 90’s rap. Tom Hardy utilized the stage name, Tommy No 1 as his rap persona to completely fit in and not to be looked as an outcast.

It also contains a variety of impressive samples of jazz and film soundtracks, most notably a sample from The Godfather. Check out the mixtape above.
